Philosophy Belgium

Beauty brand Philosophy (read: really cool packages decorated with wise, dreamy texts) is coming to Belgium. In a few weeks you'll find their products in the Ici Paris XL stores. Philosophy became popular with it's special skin treatments but they've got also great body products ans some lovely fragrances. A few examples:

Golden Rose Nail Polish

During my holiday I was walking on the street when I saw a little cosmetic shop. They sold nail polish, in every single color. I didn't know the brand: Golden Rose. But it was worth trying, I came back with 55 bottles ;). I know you guys will think I'm crazy but there really was a reason. When I applied the first layer, it sucked. But after the second one, I couldn't believe my eyes. This little bottle of nail polish made a PERFECT color, was immediately dry, and had a price of only €0.50!! And last but not least: the dark blue ones are exactly the same as the famous color of Chanel Le Vernis.

Later at the airport, they sold the same nail polish for €4.

10 Tips For The Perfect Lips

Be kissable!

1. Lip Balm
During the day it's important to keep your lips moisturized so make sure you have a good lip balm.

2. Milk Cream
Boil some milk for about 10 minutes. You will now notice a thick layer on the surface. Apply this gently on your lips for ten minutes and rinse with water. Milk is an excellent cleaner and the cream will give your lips natural butter and balm.

3. Vaseline
Apply some vaseline before you go to sleep, vaseline is extremely moisturizing.

4. Tooth Brush
Scrub your lips with a toothbrush and some toothpaste to remove the dead skin.

5. Water
Drinking enough water will keep your body, and your lips, hydratated.

6. Stop licking your lips
This will dry out your lips!

7. Huney
Feed your lips by applying some huney before you go to sleep.

8. Stop smoking
Smoking will cause more wrinkles around your mouth. It will also give you more vertical lines because you're drying them out.

9. Almond oil
Apply for 30 days some almond oil on your lips, when they are extremly chapped.

10. Stop using matte lipstick
This will dry out your lips! You can use some lip balm as a layer.

 

Fall 2011: Red Lips

Almost in every new beauty campain: the red lips. And no, it doesn't have to be expensive but make sure you have a good lipliner (in the same color) and some lip balm.

The biggest problem is that your lipstick will smudge.
Solution one: apply some lipliner around your lips and color the rest too.
Solution two: apply some lip balm to fix it :-)
Conclusion: don't blame it on the lipstick.

Fekkai Hairproducts Available In Belgium

Frédéric Fekkais, the famous celibrity hairdresser of 5th Avenue has finally launched his products in Belgium. The lucky seller is Ici Paris XL.
For one shampoo you pay about €23 and you can choose between different series. The Essential Shea Collection for dry, fragile hair, the Brilliant Glossing Collection, the Full Blown Collection for extra volume and last but not least the Silky Straight Ironless Collection. You read is right: no iron needed.

New Zoeva Brushes!

Zoeva, a German make up brand, became famous with different palettes, especially their huge eye shadow and concealer palettes. About three months ago i bought the concealer set, a blush brush and a fine liner. And i must say, I'm pretty happy about my product however they aren't made with real hair.
Now three months later, Zoeva released two new kabuki brushes: the flat and stippling kabuki. Prices €8,80 and €7,20. They also announced the coming of the mini bamboo set, perfect to take with you on a trip. This set will be available in October.  

Minx Metallic Nails + New Release OPI Nail Polish

Are you wondering where many celebrities and it-girls got their perfect metallic nails? One name: Minx Nails. Stars like Blake Lively, Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and many more already discovered it. And the stupid thing is: we can't have them in Belgium. So my dear nail artists: take the course and be the first to launch a Minx store in Belgium!

However there are alternatives. Rimmel was making the perfect shade about 2-3 years ago but for now that's history. :-( And the other nail polish brands usually make something with too much glitter or a bad cover. Lucky us there's still OPI, and that's my favourite by the way. They even beat 'Le Vernis' from Chanel. The assortment of OPI already had some metallic shades, with probably the best silver in the world.. But now they announced a new colour. After an opinion poll it's finally there: the OPI Gold Shatter nail polish. I already want him!

The Power Of Coloured Concealers

Our ultimate saviour for dark circles, pimples, spots and scars: a good concealer. These handy things exist in nude shades but you can find them in colors as well. If you apply the opposite color of the color you want to cover, you will improve the result. But which color do you have to use?


dark circles: pink or yellow, according to your skin tone
red spots and blushing cheeks: green
yellow spots: lilac


hint: use some foundation to apply above

Salt Scrub: Make It Yourself

Een scrub laat je niet enkel toe om je bruine kleurtje langer te houden, het maakt je huid ook enorm zacht! De dode huidcellen worden immers verwijderd. Helaas zijn de meeste scrubs nogal duur, maar ze allemaal zijn samengesteld uit dezelfde ingrediënten. Het is dus erg makkelijk om het snel zelf te maken. Het enige wat je echt nodig hebt is zeezout en olijfolie. Just mix it.

Wil je een lichtere scrub, bijvoorbeeld voor op je gezicht, dan kan je voor de helft met gewoon zout werken. De scrubdeeltjes zijn dan kleiner. Verder kan je ook essentiële oliën of bloemblaadjes toevoegen zodat je scrub een lekker geurtje krijgt.

Trend: Newspaper Nails

Nail land has a new method: newspaper nails. This look is not only easy, but cheap as well. Only 5 steps!

1. paint your nails in a nude or bright colour
2. drench your nails in a glass of vodka
3. wrap a piece of newspaper around your finger
4. remove the piece of newspaper carefully
5. apply a protecting topcoat

Be creative and experiment with other things. You can use for example magazines or comics or you can print your own text document (mirrored). :-)
